“Art is a weapon…It’s about telling stories that have not been told. It’s about reclaiming visual space.”

-Thomas Ryan Red Corn (Osage), Artist

Visions for the Future, a new book by Fulcrum Publishing and the Native American Rights Fund (NARF), celebrates contemporary Native American artists and shares their unique views on the twenty-first century. These provocative works capture the vivid emergence taking shape in the Native American art world. Each piece is accompanied by the young artists’ perspectives on art, identity, and the future of Indian Country. A portion of the proceeds will benefit NARF, the oldest and largest nonprofit law firm dedicated to asserting and defending the rights of Indian tribes, organizations, and individuals nationwide. Copies will be available for sale at the art show and may be signed by cover artist, Bunky Echo-Hawk, and NARF Executive Director John Echohawk. Available in bookstores nationwide in November 2007.

Quese Imc is an award-winning Hip Hop Emcee, independent music producer, and cultural activist. Quese’s artistic style mixes the modern substance of freestyling, Hip Hop, and Funk with strictly traditional Native American forms and traditional values. His lyrical style is a unique, cultured-eclectic, soulful, and moving way of expressing his idea of Hip Hop music. Quese also performs traditional Seminole and Pawnee songs-showing that this young Native performer can easily flow between different worlds and genres of music.

Quese Imc is a 2006 "Album of the Year" Award from First Americans in the Arts and has also appeared on MTV’s “Def Jam.” Some of acts that Quese has opened for include: Snoop Dogg; Ludacris; Tyrese; Cee-Lo;  Grandmaster Flash; The Pharcyde; Hieroglyphics; Atmosphere; and Kumbia Kings. Quese also serves as a promotional spokesperson for NARF and appeared and wrote the music for in its recent national PSA Campaign "The Indian Wars Never Ended."
